Church membership is firstly about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Please see our page on how to follow Jesus. We run a series of membership classes during the year, as required. The classes are informal and interactive, enabling participants to explore faith for themselves. Joining a class does not mean that a person is obliged to become a member.
Baptism is the formal beginning of church membership. We are delighted to welcome both children and adults to Baptism (also known as a ‘Christening’). Baptisms normally take place in the 9.30 service on the second Sunday of each month at the Parish Church. We encourage teenagers and adults to confirm their personal relationship with Christ in a Confirmation Service led by the Bishop.
For both children and adults we hope you will begin by coming along and getting to know the community for a few weeks as you explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
To join classes, please chat to a member of clergy after a service.
