Your Visit

John ChristmasHello and Welcome!
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask honest questions and share their point of view. We gather together in three beautiful buildings to worship God in a range of styles, appealing to people of all ages. We constantly hear of people who have encountered God in fresh ways as God works by his Spirit in this parish. See What’s on this week.

We strive to be a church that: is a genuine worshipping community, is relevant and accessible to all, is Christ – centred and community focused, reaching out to others as we live out our faith, is vibrant and joyful, is Spirit – filled and led by God, appreciates both the traditional and contemporary styles of worship. We very much hope you will take the time to visit us and look forward to getting to know you.

yours,

Revd. John Goodman (Vicar)

The Lord’s Supper – 11am @ St. Peter’s Church

Connect with over a thousand years of worship in Chalfont St. Peter by celebrating holy communion in style, with great music and all the trimmings. This service uses Common Worship Liturgy (Contemporary Language) with robes, organ and choir.

Evensong – 4pm @ St. Paul’s Church

Nestled between fields down quiet country lanes, St. Paul’s, Horn Hill, is a picturesque church on the edge of the parish. It’s friendly congregation worship using the Prayer Book Service for Evening Prayer for the first 3 weeks of the month. Each 4th Sunday of the month we celebrate Holy Communion using Common Worship (Traditional Language).

The Lord’s Supper 6:30pm @ All Saints’ Church

Combining magnificent music with a traditional communion service (Common Worship), this congregation meets on the 3rd Sunday in the month in All Saints’ Church, Oval Way.

Encourage Others

We encourage each other with friendship, enjoying time together in a range of activities. Through our pastoral care, we offer prayerful support in many ways. Our ministries in toddler groups, local schools and in care homes impact the lives of 100s of families in the community with fun, friendship and the hope of the good news of Jesus.

Our rhythm of community life enables us to encourage one another in our walk with Jesus.

Baptisms

We are delighted to welcome both children and adults to Baptism (also known as a ‘Christening’). Baptisms normally take place in the 9.30 service on the second Sunday of each month at the Parish Church.

To arrange a baptism, please chat to a member of clergy after a service.

Confirmation

We encourage teenagers and adults to confirm their personal relationship with Christ in a Confirmation Service led by the Bishop. We run a series of Confirmation classes during the year, as required. The classes are informal and interactive, enabling participants to explore faith for themselves. Joining a class does not mean that a person is obliged to be confirmed.

To join confirmation classes, please chat to a member of clergy after a service.

Weddings

All three churches in the Parish of Chalfont St Peter are beautiful venues for weddings.

Please contact the Revd John Goodman, on 01753 882389 to discuss your plans after reading: Planning your Church Wedding.

Funerals

We are pleased to conduct funeral services in our churches or at a local crematoria to offer an appropriate farewell to your loved one. Your first contact should be your undertaker who will then liaise with us. Organising a Funeral>
