We now have an enthusiastic band of 11 ringers, thanks to the hard work of our Tower Captain, Steve White, and the eclectic band of spirited youngsters aged 30 to 90. We have won another gold award for the maintenance of our bells – these awards are attained every 2 years. It is not easy to get a gold award, the maintenance has to be outstanding. We now hold 8 consecutive gold awards, a testimony to outstanding maintenance for 16 years. This is thanks to Gerry Dliss, our Steeple Keeper, and his maintenance team.
We practise on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm until 9pm. We obviously ring for Sunday Services and special holy occasions. Weddings are always a joy to ring for. The bells are rung half muffled for the Remembrance Service in November. On the 6th June 2024, in conjunction with every church in England, our bells rang at 6.30pm in remembrance of D-Day, 80 years ago.
If you would like to know more about our ringers please contact Valerie Robbins, the Secretary & Treasurer of Chalfont St. Peter Bellringers through the Parish Administrator (samantha@csp.church)
