About Us

Who are we?

We are YOUR Parish Church – though in fact we are ‘three in one’ as we have three churches.

The word ‘parish’ comes from the Latin ‘parochia’ meaning a group of Christians living in the same area – parishes.

Today in England everyone lives within a parish and parish churches are there to serve the spiritual and pastoral needs of everyone living within the parish boundaries. They try to provide a sense of community and serve those in need.

You might have heard of the Ten Commandments even if you can’t remember them. Jesus summed these up in just two:

  • Love God
  • Love your neighbour as yourself

By ‘neighbour’ he meant other people, especially those in need. The word ‘love’ in this context comes from a Greek word ‘agape’ and it means showing care and concern for others.

Keeping those commandments is what we try do and what we try to live by.

So who are we?

We are the Parish Church.

We are YOUR church!
